INTRODUCTION!

This blog is managed by a group of three prospective teachers. They include Anjanie Ramnanan, Alisha Sookrali and Arnold Bassano.
Our main objective is to educate students, at secondary level (aged 12-16), about the importance of passing soccer ball the appropriate way without hurting themselves. Various teaching strategies are used to accommodate students of different learning abilities.
Soccer, or commonly known as football, is one of the major sports that students enjoy playing especially in school for Physical Education. It is also very popular as an extracurricular activity in many schools across the country. However, many children have been damaged when it comes to passing the ball.
Thus, this blog seeks to assist viewers and most importantly young students in learning how to pass a soccer ball.

We hope you enjoy !

STEP TO KICK A SOCCER BALL PROPERLY!

Key terms: Plant foot, kicking foot, inside of foot, leg position, body position and follow through.

STEP 1

  • The plant foot (non-kicking foot) should be alongside the soccer-ball facing the direction in which the ball is to be passed. This helps with the easy, comfortable and proper passing of the ball with no friction between the kicking foot and plant foot.
STEP 2

  • Using the inside of your foot, NOT YOUR TOES, position your kicking foot horizontal to the ball in preparation to pass the ball.

WHAT NOT TO DO!

WHAT TO DO!

STEP 3
  • The position of your kicking leg would determine how much power you would exert on the ball and how far the ball would go. Therefore, the further back your leg is the more power would be released and the further the ball shall go.

STEP 4
  • The position of your body also determines where the ball shall go. You want to ensure that you lean slightly forward, with your head a little over the ball before passing the ball. This ensures that the ball is passed on the ground and not in the air which would happen if you were to lean backwards when passing the ball. It also supports stability.
STEP 5
  • After making contact with the ball you must follow through in order to gain power and placement on the ball. This can also prevent injury and allow you to get maximum power on your pass.
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU NOW KNOW HOW TO PASS A SOCCER-BALL!!!!!!
